Aruba, Raw and Real — Waiting to Be Discovered
Venture into Aruba’s wild side on a guided off-road safari. Navigate rugged trails to the Ayo Rock Formation, explore ancient Indian Caves, and dive into the island’s crown jewel — the Natural Pool. Create an unforgettable memory where you can swim and snorkel in crystal-clear waters as you’re surrounded by natural rock formations. This is Aruba, raw and real — waiting to be discovered.
Your professional guide is also your driver, sharing the island’s stories in English and Spanish as you roll across Arikok National Park in a Pelican Adventures branded 4×4 jeep. Look for a Pelican Adventures representative in uniform — the guide will be traveling in a Pelican Adventures branded jeep, and hotel pickup begins up to 60 minutes before departure.
Your Itinerary: Ayo Rocks, Caves & the Natural Pool
1. Ayo Rock Formation (25 minutes)
Walk among towering boulders shaped by time and nature. Climb to scenic viewpoints and admire ancient Arawak petroglyphs carved into the rocks.
2. Illuminated Cave Chambers (20 minutes)
Wander through two illuminated chambers filled with shafts of sunlight, natural formations, and local legends — this cave is as mysterious as it is beautiful.
3. White Sand Dunes (scenic drive-by)
Take in the dramatic contrast of Aruba’s wind-carved white sand dunes against the deep blue of the Caribbean Sea — a stunning photo stop and a glimpse into the island’s raw natural beauty.
4. Fontein Cave (20 minutes)
Step into the mystical Fontein Cave, where centuries-old Arawak drawings line the limestone ceilings. Just outside, dip your feet into a natural spring for a playful fish pedicure — where tiny fish gently exfoliate your feet in a unique and refreshing experience.
5. Aruba’s Wind Turbines (scenic drive-by)
Drive past Aruba’s renewable energy hub where towering wind turbines spin along the southeastern coast — a powerful symbol of the island’s commitment to sustainability.
6. Natural Pool (45 minutes)
Arrive at Aruba’s iconic Natural Pool, nestled between volcanic rock. Cool off with a swim or snorkel (weather permitting), as waves crash around this hidden coastal gem.
Good to know before you go: Bring a reusable water bottle — bottled water is provided and refills are encouraged. Wear comfortable shoes for rocky terrain, and pack reef-safe sunscreen and a towel for the Natural Pool.
